A counsel to the suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mr Waha Shittu, has stated that allegations against his client, Mr Magu, are mere trump up.
He stated this while speaking to some media practitioners, following the release of his client, and the clarification made earlier that his client is being investigated and not being tried.
He further explained that he is confident that his client will be reinstated in office, as the charges against him are baseless.
Recall that the claims of Mr Magu gifting 4 billion naira to the Vice President and 28 million to Mr Femi Falana had been earlier denied by the duo, Mr Magu equally denied same, corroborating the duo’s denial.
Meanwhile, the chief opposition party, PDP, has questioned the anti-graft war of the President, claiming that failure to try Mr Magu is condemnable.
