The Department of State Service (DSS) has explained that the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Ibrahim Mustapha Magu, is called for questioning and not arrested, as earlier reports put it.

The department has explained that the EFCC boss is being questioned for six allegations bordering on acquisition of properties.

Earlier reports explained that Mallam Magu has properties outside the country, including some transactions.

Ibrahim Magu has been the acting head of the anti-graft agency for about five years, and has recorded some laudable feats in the fight against corruption; though the eighth National Assembly rejected substantiation of his appointment on few occasions.
